Aging Services of California To Co-Sponsor Workforce Education Programs With Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging

Evanston, Ill. (January 20, 2010) – Aging Services of California has announced that it is co-sponsoring a variety of educational programs with the Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging (MLIA), aimed at improving skills of employees who work at senior living and adult day care organizations throughout the State. 

  MLIA, based in Evanston, IL, focuses on applied research and education for health professionals and providers who serve older adults.  Their award-winning educational programs have received national recognition for improving and enhancing both workplaces and the skills that employees need to serve older adults. 

The programs, which will include on-line educational program and webinars, will focus on disaster preparedness, wellness, care delivery, and understanding the aging process. 

“We are very pleased to be partnering with Aging Services of California,” said Linda Hollinger Smith, PhD., Vice President, Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging.  “The objective of the partnership is to help stimulate a higher level of care for older adults through proven educational programs.”
