The 2010 report includes data unavailable anywhere else from a national sample comprised of nearly 200,000 units in almost 1,500 independent living communities, assisted living residences, and continuing care retirement communities. Published annually for 18 consecutive years, the State of Seniors Housing report includes data on all pertinent financial and performance measures including occupancy, resident turnover, length of stay, financial results per occupied unit, staffing and labor costs, key financial performance metrics and much more. There are several new and expanded analyses, including significantly expanded “same-store” data and information collected to quantify the impact of concessions.
The State of Seniors Housing 2010 is a collaborative research project between the American Seniors Housing Association, National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry, American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, Assisted Living Federation of America, and National Center for Assisted Living. It is a resource for owners, operators, lenders and investors and other professionals interested in the market-rate seniors housing business, and is available for purchase at www.seniorshousing.org.
